My frist trip took me to Rasht. Capital city of Gillan provinc, located northwest of Iran about 50 Km from Tehran.
Here I met Mr. Mohamad Sharghi and Mr. Shahzad Mirghesheyni. Shahzad keeps purely Tehrani High Flying Tumblers bred only for endurance and competition (Grobandi).
He has won all races for the last 5 years in the two northern Provinces of Gillan and Mazandaran.
He has flown 110 to 165 birds in competitions with the fantastic average of over 8 hours.
He keeps around 300 birds, all with great backgrounds and pedigrees. I found his birds to be the best of High Flying Tumblers in my visit. He is a true gentleman and very knowledgeable fancier. I do sugest to any fan of this breed who travels to Iran to go and see Shahzad. He is truly a great Eshghbaz. I was honored to meet him and his loft manager.
I will always treasure the time I spent with such friends as Shahzad and Mohamad.
